Volunteer At Habitat ReStore
Looking to give back? Habitat ReStores offer volunteer opportunities geared toward your interests and skills, from setting up displays, processing donated products, providing customer service, repairing furniture, and more.
Volunteering at your local Habitat ReStore in Peterborough or Lindsay is a rewarding way to connect with people, meet new friends, and make a difference in your community. Groups are also welcome.
Volunteer at the Office
Every volunteer makes a difference.
There are many opportunities to contribute your skills and time. Opportunities include providing administrative support, answering phones, handling inquiries, data entry, research, mailings, organization, photography, and more.
Volunteer Youth
You have the power to transform lives while gaining life-long skills, making new friends, and having fun in your local community.
You can earn high school volunteer hours and make a difference by volunteering in your local Habitat ReStore. You can participate in a variety of ways including setting up displays, helping and greeting customers, processing donated products and clothing, and more! You’ll get great retail experience and help the Habitat ReStore build affordable homes.
Deconstruction Team
Our Kitchen and Home Deconstruction Team are a team of staff and volunteers who go out to homes and help remove large built in items like kitchens and bathrooms, to then sell them in the Habitat ReStores to help build homes.
If you are someone who is handy, and likes busy work, this is the place for you! It’s a great way to be out in the community, learning new skills with a great team!

Volunteer at the Tool Library
Do you want to help members of the community get access to affordable home-building tools?
Volunteer at our Tool Library in both Lindsay and Peterborough. The Tool Library gives the community access to hundreds of tools for a low yearly membership fee.
Volunteer tasks can include:
- Signing up new members
- Tracking and managing tool inventory
- Keeping the library tidy and organized
- Tool maintenance
- Customer service
Volunteer shifts are:
- 9am – 4pm
- 9am – 1pm
- 1pm – 4pm.
