We’re committed to making homeownership possible for as many families as we can. Due to current interest rates, we are primarily supporting applicants with a household income of $60,000 or higher at this time. If your income is below this threshold, we still encourage you to apply! Our team will stay in touch, and your application will be placed on hold until mortgage rates decrease, at which point we’ll gladly reassess eligibility.
Family Selection Criteria
To determine eligibility, interested applicants must complete our Expression of Interest Form. Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region's Family Services team will review all pre-screening applications. Eligible applicants will be asked to attend an information session and complete a full application form.
Steps to Apply
Step 1
Apply online by completing the expression of interest form to determine eligibility
Step 2
Expression of interest form is reviewed by the Housing Program Manager, and the applicant will be invited to apply, be placed on hold or declined.
Step 3
If the process is continued, the applicant will be asked to complete the full application process.
Step 4
If the process is continued, the applicant will be asked for an in-home interview.
Step 5
If the process is continued, the application is sent to the financial institution for review.
Step 6
If determined to be a good partner for Habitat for Humanity, the applicant(s) meet with the Housing Program Manager to discuss the 500 Volunteer Hours to be completed, the workshops that need to be completed, and the letter of agreement details for Homeownership.
